Obesity is measured by Body Mass Index (BMI) and can be used to measure both overweight and obsesity in adults. BMI is a direct calculation based on height and weight, and it is not gender-specific. BMI is found by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters (kg/m2).

Weight Classification BMI (kg/m2)
Overweight 25.0 - 29.9
Obese (Class I) 30.0 - 34.9
Obese (Class II) 35.0 - 39.9
Clinically Severe Obesity (Class III) > 40.0
